Hi, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve had any sort of “home tour,” so I was thrilled when Jewel from Jeweled Interiors and Jennifer from Dimples & Tangles asked me, and other color-loving friends, to join their “It’s A Colorful Life: Snapshots of Summer” blog hop! Life has been so slow, but so busy lately, and sometimes I forget to share small changes I’ve made around the house, so consider this a little update! If you’ve made your way here from Kaleidoscope Living, welcome! I’m Haneen, mom of four, using my art degree around the house:)
Hopefully, you may recently have seen my One Room Challenge living room makeover! I take great joy in grabbing clippings from our backyard each week for the coffee table. They seem to get exponentionally bigger. Lol
Living Room…
One small thing I added, was this little organic bowl from a local shop in Downtown Plymouth called Haven. I decided to fill it with little balls with our initials on them…
Bringing the outdoors in, with some clippings from your trees or bushes, is the easiest summer accessory! I do this in multiple places. Here’s more in our foyer…
Entry…
And more fresh clippings in the kitchen…
Kitchen…
If you’re new here, I like putting books in unexpected places. Do your kitchen cabinets not go all the way to the ceiling? Why fill it with tchotchkes you can barely see? This brings my favorite color to an otherwise boring waste of space. Will it get dusty or greasy? Probably, but I thrifted these books at 10 cents each, so even if there’s 100 books, that’s a whopping $10 I’ll throw away and go get more:) Also, I typically have a painting over the stove that I got at an estate sale, but it fell! Oops. I need to find stronger Command strips!
I spy a cute new stand from Studio McGee! I’ve been looking for something just like this for our sea salt holder!
Speaking of new, if you missed it, we found these gorgeous brass sconces for our family room…
Family Room…
I think they look amazing against the reclaimed wood wall! Mixing something shiny with something rough is one of my favorite things to do. The most interesting rooms are filled with juxtapositions!
Wanna know something funny? Those velvet, floral stools are fairly new, but they’re completely worn out on the top edges, because my younger ones lay them horizontally and roll around on them while they watch tv! Lol. Sigh. Good ol’ quarantining. Letting things slide one piece of furniture at a time.
I’m a little weird about candlesticks sometimes. Meaning sometimes I love the candlesticks alone and I don’t even bother putting candles in them!
That faux olive tree is currently sold out, but you can find a similar one HERE and HERE.
Not much has changed in other areas of our home, but in case you’re new here and want more color, here’s our:
Powder Bathroom…
Office…
Dining Room…
I moved the green lamps that were in our living room prior to the One Room Challenge, onto the green DIY thrifted buffet. I think I like them here!
Basement Bath…
Back Porch…
Outside…

I LOVE your home. I love all the color. I love all the accent pieces. I wish I could have you over to design my space. Curious where your living room light fixture is from? It’s so unique.
So nice, thank you! The light is linked in the post:) Under the photos of the living room, you can scroll through products and click on an image of the light to shop for it. It’s a Troy light from Hudson Valley Lighting. I believe I linked it on Amazon!
