I just redesigned my 14 year old’s bedroom with Pottery Barn Teen, and I’m so excited to share it with you! She’s about to start high school, and I would have LOVED to have this room at that age- it looks so cool! Here’s where we started:

I hated the bed shoved in the corner against the window (her request), and I finally was able to convince her to center the bed. My main goals for this makeover was 1) a better furniture layout and 2) more storage to help get this room cleaned up and organized! I think we accomplished just that…

Eek! It’s so good! Let’s get to the details. My daughter wanted simple, neutral, with subtle coastal nods.
That furry swivel seat is so fun and comfy! Great place to read. And speaking of reading, I love that she now has a proper bookshelf for books and accessories. These baskets have been a huge help with keeping things organized!
How cool is this guitar holder? She’s shown interest in learning, so we hung her dad’s guitar up and he’s been teaching her:)

I love the mid-century vibes of the dresser. And the surf board pin board? How cool! Can’t wait to help her fill it with photos from our recent trip to NYC for her 8th grade field trip!
The desk and vanity mirror are so good! Great storage! Even the mirror has a little drawer. And we love the different light settings. And speaking of great storage, her new bed has drawers!

True game changer. Great for things that are out of season- like swimsuits or winter sweaters.
She really wanted all of the furniture to be white. I tried explaining that mixing in different finishes adds more character to a room, so I like that we went with nightstands with a light stain, and the bed and desk have the same subtle stain border at the bottom. Looks lovely!

Really grateful to partner with Pottery Barn Teen for this! Did you know they create GREENGUARD Gold Certified products? Meaning it’s high quality materials that are tested for harmful chemical emissions. I love their commitment to sustainable, earth friendly products!

Cheers to fresh spaces! And keeping this room as clean as it is now 🙂
Just lovely, but I think I know why she liked the bed in the corner…so she could look out the window while reading in bed! My sister and I got our first bedroom when I was in seventh grade. Up until then we slept on a pull-out couch or a roll-away bed either in the living room or kitchen! We treasured our bedroom and kept it looking like something out of a magazine!
What color is your teen daughter’s room. It looks like a very pretty grey.
Thanks!
Thank you! It’s SW Modern Gray
