Mood Board Monday- Dining Room!

It’s Monday! Time for another mood board design! This time, I’m bringing you a fresh take on a dining room. It all started with this wallpaper

Guys, I’m already a sucker for a beautiful floral, but throw in a vintage vibe and moody blues and greens, and I’m smitten. It’s beautiful! And the warm, brown tones really sold me. It gave me the perfect opportunity to mix in my favorite triple combo: wood, velvet and brass.

Wahoo! This is so fun! Lol. I’m such a design dork. Coming up with rooms from thin air is FUN for me. The wallpaper was definitely the starting point, and from there I was able to pull pieces to compliment it. I’ll be honest, this is a table I’ve been coveting for my own kitchen. The table we have is rectangular and doesn’t even fit all six of us- so two of us end up eating at the kitchen island. I’ve been wanting a round table to seat all of us, and this transitional table is classic, but modern in shape. It’s beautiful!

So… how about those chairs? They’re a chocolate brown and the shape is super edgy. LOVE. I just spoke recently on Instagram stories about how important it is to balance luxurious materials with natural elements. That’s why I love these chairs paired with the casual wood table.

As far as lighting goes, since the table is round, I wanted to find a light to mirror that shape. I absolutely love this brass dome light! Again, eyeing this for my own kitchen:) And I wanted to keep the round shapes going, so I chose a round mirror to go over the buffet. That buffet is actually just a chest of drawers/dresser, but who says you can’t use it as a buffet? I actually have the same one in our bedroom (in a lighter stain) and I use them on both side of the bed as nightstands…

As for the art, a simple outdoor scene with all the right colors was the perfect piece to layer over the mirror, along with that cute plant! The rug was a great finishing touch. Soft under foot, it’s a vintage Persian rug in warm colors. Lastly, I added simple, clean drapes to dress the windows. Done!

Shop the room…

There you have it, friends! What kind of room should I work on for next week? Let me know in comments below if you have suggestions!

  1. Oh this is just beautiful! I love that dark dramatic wallpaper. One of my favorite things to do when I worked at an interior design firm was search through the wallpaper sample books. One of these days I’m going to find a place where I have that opportunity again.
