Spring Tour 2018

Happy Spring, guys! Is it even officially spring yet? I have no idea. March in Michigan drags on forever and there never seems to be a legitimate end to winter in sight! BUT, in Blogland, we like to decorate for any and all the things early, so we’ll go ahead and pretend that spring is in full swing! Thank you to Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for hosting this blog hop! Be sure to check out the list of bloggers participating at the end of this post!

If you’re new here from Inspiration For Moms, welcome! My name is Haneen, I’m a mom of four using my art degree around the house:) I love color, and I love mixing old and new! Modern design with vintage touches thrown in is my jam. And that’s all very evident in my family room refresh!

I found this candle holder at Home Goods and couldn’t resist attempting to use it for flowers! I filled each little opening with water and cut the stems short. Some of the candle holders weren’t perfectly welded and some water seeped through, but it was worth it for the photos:) And several Instagram followers had wonderful suggestions. Next time, I’ll line the ones with gaps with something like aluminum foil, or get some of those tiny test tubes!

One easy way to freshen things up for spring in your home is by swapping out pillows. I actually used these fur plum ones in the fall along with this abstract lumbar pillow you can find by clicking HERE, but I wanted a floral with a black background to go with my black velvet drapes, and I found those HERE.

Let’s be honest, this credenza was the most perfect purchase to hold all of my green thrifted books! I love this little nook so much, and this piece is so transitional with each passing season. It’ll have wrapped gifts in those openings where to buy ventolin online come Christmas, and pumpkins come Halloween. I love it!

I’m really not a faux flowers gal, but these twigs from Michael’s were the perfect color and just the right scale to add to this vase. I wanted something on the taller side to give some height to the whole vignette. That abstract painting is a bit on the small side. I have plans in the works for a fun gallery wall here, but in the meantime, taller twigs are filling the space a bit.

This fireplace is getting a major makeover! If you missed the announcement in my Instagram stories, I was invited by Frog Tape to participate in their Paintover challenge, and I’m so excited to give this room a new look! Changing the fireplace with paint and new tile will completely transform this space. Stay tuned!

Found that painting for $5 at an estate sale:)
