It’s week four of the One Room Challenge! Know what that means? Only two weeks before the reveal of this laundry room! Holy smokes! I had a few late nights in a row with my two P’s: paintbrush and pandora. Rocked out the cabinets, walls, and ceiling and I’m not gonna lie- digging it! 4am bedtimes were totally worth it! Let’s get to the photos and talk a bit about what’s up next. And if you need to get caught up, you can see the initial plans HERE, and then visit WEEK 2 and WEEK 3.
So the walls are painted Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams, and I only painted two walls because the other two are getting papered. I also didn’t take the paint all the way to the counters because I’m still considering a backsplash. Lol. I know- last minute decision making over here!
I’ll be sure to do a blog post with a tutorial on how I went about painting the cabinets, but for now I’ll tell you I chose the color Secret Society by Behr. I was so excited to throw on the hardware when it was all finished! Loving these pulls.
I thought about whether they should all be twisted on exactly the same so that they’d end up all facing the same direction or have the correct color triangle in the same spot, but then I decided it was just too much effort, (mom of four over here- ain’t nobody got time for that!) and thought it’d be more fun to just wing it and see where each landed. I like them in varied positions!
The ceiling! I painted ceiling! If you watch my IG stories, you know I questioned the color for the split second. I worried it may look like the color of a poopy diaper. Lol. But I kept rolling on the paint and once it was up and the tape was ripped off, I loved it! It’s called Retro Avacado by Behr. I liked the name:) Didn’t want a green that came off too “lime.” This had a little more olive in it which I liked.
The brick wallpaper from Milton & King has arrived, but the floral paper from Spoonflower is in transit. Here’s a pic of the brick butted up next to the floral in a fabric sample. I absolutely love them together!
Here’s some happy mail that came this week! My new board from Letterfolk is in one box, and the hardware to the barn door is in some others. Then there’s a FAB vase from Jill Rosenwald, and Minted art (that’s actually going in my family room on the wood wall!)
So here’s what’s next on the to-do list:
* Have wallpaper installed
* Purchase rug
* Install new light fixture (the pink one in photos above technically works with the floral paper, but I didn’t want this room to become a box of crayons! I LOVE color, but even I have my limits! Actually, let me rephrase that: I rarely stray too far from a box of crayons, but the rug will be pink, so I’m just trying to even things out visually)
* Fix, paint, and install final cabinet door (It accidentally broke a while back when my husband got his pant pocket stuck on the knob while walking past it! Lol)
* Hang shelves/art
* Figure out backsplash!
* Figure out sink/faucet situation
I think I can! I think I can! Tune in next week for more progress!
