Powder Bathroom Makeover

I redesigned our powder bathroom! If I’m being honest, I loved this bathroom. Lol. But I’m no stranger to change! I like mixing things up! And while I loved the wallpaper and the overall vibe of this space, the teal color was no longer jiving with the warm, earthy colors I’ve brought to the rest of the house!

Before…

So, once I started browsing Lulu & Georgia, designing this space was a breeze! Such a dream to partner with them on everything from the wallpaper to the lighting to the mirror to the art and accessories!

After…

Say, what? Can you believe this difference? A can of paint does wonders to change up the whole look of a space! We went with Dutch Boy’s Pinecone Brown (313-7DB). It reminded me of a cognac leather. And this wallpaper inspired the whole room’s direction!

Let’s talk art! I love a mix of modern and traditional, so this portrait paired with the modern, rust abstract behind the door just felt right. Yes, this piece is huge, but I really love oversized art in a small space! Unexpected is always the way to go.

And of course, I always love a little vintage. I found this iron horse and an old copy of Black Beauty from the Found Mercantile antique fair in West Michigan.

I love a modern light in a traditional space!

Completely obsessed with this modern, walnut doorknob from Emtek!

I loved the shape of this vase, and the color looks great with the walls!

I love the tortoise shell frame of this mirror!

Yes, the mirror should go higher, but I honestly just didn’t want to drill into the wallpaper, so we went as high as we could without doing that.

Another gorgeous piece from Emtek! This time, a classic brass towel ring.

So, I did something a little unconventional- I made a sink skirt and cafe curtains out of this gorgeous throw blanket! It was actually quite easy! No sewing involved- I just cut it to size and used these clips that fit around the console sink bars.

That travertine pedestal is such a statement piece when you walk in! That photo was a progress shot taken before art was up or the new doorknob was installed, but I love the light in it:)

What do you think? Do you like the blue better? Friendly reminder that you can change things just for the fun of it, and not because you don’t like it:) I know so many people loved the blue bathroom! I have photos of it to remember it forever:) For now, I’ll cherish this new space!

Shop this room…

Cheers,

Haneen
