Holiday Mantel 2024

The holidays are here! I’ll be honest- I’ve been a little intimidated to get started on my holiday decorating because I don’t think anything can top last year! We hosted Thanksgiving last year, so I really went all out making our home extra cozy and beautiful. I’m just not feeling as inspired this year, mainly because we’re now paying for TWO college tuitions (crazy!) and I just can’t spend hundreds on new ideas, ya know?

With that said, however, you all know I LOVE designing a holiday mantel, so I did go out and buy eight yards of inexpensive fabric to make this

As far as how I made this… I laid the fabric out on our foyer floor since that’s where I had the most space. Folded the eight yards in half, tied a knot and then a bow, just like you normally would…

That’s a screenshot of a video I made, during the process. You can find the video on my Instagram page @haneens_haven. After I finished the bow, I hooked it onto Command hooks on the fireplace, above the mirror. For the swag? I nailed them in place! I already had holes in that area from the wall sconces I had up there, so no big deal! And I stuffed the bow itself with grocery bags to make it look more full. And that’s it!

Adding old books is my go-to for everything, so I just mixed these with some wooden trees I had, and I think it came together pretty nicely:) I love a dramatic bow!

Shop it…

Cheers,

Haneen
