Simple Holiday Mantel

Finally! Some holiday decor to share! If you want a look back on last year’s holiday decor, you can click HERE or HERE. This year, I’ve gone black, white, and green in my family room, and I thought I’d show you a simple mantel design I put together. It doesn’t have to be extravagant to be beautiful…

That large print seems so fitting this time of year! I love the forrest amongst holiday decor. It’s from Home Goods, and it’s amazing what great art you can find there. I also found the black ornaments with the snowflakes there. I paired them with white ornaments I already had, and hung them from some branches I gathered from the backyard. That’s my favorite free go-to. Look outside! These were perfect in green vases flanking the print, and I simply lined the rest of the mantle with a garland from Michaels.

The green chairs are typically against my reclaimed wood wall, but I love dragging chairs in front of the fireplace for photos- just looks so cozy! Especially with the “Let It Snow” pillow and throw, also from Home Goods. I love the puff balls on that throw!

What do you think? I know it’s a bit more simple than usual. I tend to go a little crazy and I love lots and lots of layers, but for some reason, simple felt best this year. Here’s our mantel from last year…

So, what’s next? For those of you who don’t know, Better Homes & Gardens is coming in January to shoot my holiday decor for next year’s issue! Super excited, but it has me limited in what I can share this year. If I could share one more thing, what should it be? Dining room holiday tablescape? The foyer? My bedroom? Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment!
