One more week til the dining room reveal! Thank you so much for following along with this fall’s One Room Challenge! If you’d like to get caught up, you can read all about the process of designing this space from start to finish, here:
WEEK 1 // WEEK 2 // (no week 3 update) // WEEK 4 // WEEK 5 // WEEK 6
As we near the reveal, I’ve got a few sneak peeks for you:) I went to FedEx to print out an amazing print from BFF Print Shop…
I hung drapes! Stole the velvet olive Ikea drapes from my kitchen. Lol…
Just have to announce that I hung these myself and didn’t mess up! It’s nerve-wracking screwing into wallpaper! But I did it! We can do hard things! 🙂 I moved that fab vintage lucite pedestal down from our primary bathroom because I decided it was just too good to be hiding upstairs. And these vases were perfect with the wallpaper. It’s ok to repurpose, friends! Not every aspect of a makeover has to be brand new. I love moving things around the house. Just the act of moving them to a new location makes them feel fresh. Speaking of which, do you spy the rug I just shared in our kitchen? It works great in here!
I’ll be honest. I’ve struggled with choosing a rug for this space. I knew I wanted a graphic pattern because I love that mix with the leafy wallpaper, but it’s been tricky to find one that’s “just right.” I’ve found some close contenders, but while I really take the time to figure it out, this one fits the bill. Who knows, I may just keep it in here!
Remember my lighting dilemma last week? I ordered two different lamp shades to try…
I love the look of the pleats on the ivory shade, but I think it’s too large. What do you think? Stay tuned for the reveal to see which direction I go and how I make it work. For now, let’s get a quick peek at lighting that’s PERFECT! …
I mean, whhhaaaaaatt? This is awesome! It’s the Hollis light from Arhaus, and it’s the coolest shape. I wanted something fun and different in this otherwise traditional room.
One last thing I want to share with you, this week! There’s an area just off of the dining room that needed a little upgrade right along with it. Here it is “before” …
You could see this squiggly wallpaper from the dining room, and I didn’t love it together. It just was reading too busy and harsh, so I went with this Saint Sebastian print in the color Sand from Wallpaper Direct…
It’s subtle, and the trees are so charming! I’ll share more of this space next week! I’ve got a few more things up my sleeve for it! But it truly blows my mind how much the wallpaper alone has changed the look of this corner.
There you have it, friends! A look at week 7! Reveal is NEXT WEEK! Can’t wait to share it with you!
