Hi, everyone! I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend! Things were definitely different this year. We had a quick visit with my parents in their garage…

And then we met in my sister-in-law’s driveway to exchange food and say a quick prayer together before we all drove back home to eat separately…

Love these people. Don’t love these circumstances!!! One thing I will say is, back in the spring while we were all quarantining, I remember thinking, this would feel pretty cozy if it was Christmas time. Lol! I’m so weird. But somehow being “stuck” at home at least seemed sweet when surrounded by twinkling lights and holiday movies. And here we are, moooonths later, and while we aren’t necessarily in a lockdown phase anymore, things are still far from normal. And the way your home feels is more important than ever these days.
Decorating for the holidays this past week has brought me so much joy! Hoping these images pass some joy and inspiration on to you as well. If you’re visiting from Jeweled Interiors, welcome! Be sure to check out a full list of bloggers whose homes you can browse at the end of this post!
Living Room…

After I took the photo above, I decided the mirror needed something festive too…

A couple of things to point out in the above photo. First, you can see into our foyer, which I shared more closely yesterday. Next, typically that black leather chair is in our family room, and while it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in this spot, holiday decorating has meant making room for trees and temporarily rearranging furniture;)

I have yet to find the perfect tree skirt, and I don’t necessarily love the look of tree collars. I decided to gather a bunch of my thrifted black books and place them in piles around the tree. I love it! The perfect ode to my love of thrifted books. Just feels cozy to me! Here it is at night…

And the view from the couch after Thanksgiving dinner. Lol…

Dining Room…

This is all I did in the dining room this year! I found this Christmas tree book shelf a few years ago at Home Goods (but found it online recently HERE!), and have styled it in different places around the house every year since. Again, I used thrifted books to fill the tree. Totally inexpenisive! And then I dispersed green ornaments (I’ve found them at Target and Hobby Lobby). It’s just so fun and festive! Here’s where I styled it last year…

Family Room…

This is the room we always put the “special” ornaments on. I don’t share it often because this isn’t necessarily a Pinterest-worthy tree. It’s filled with ornaments that represents what my kids were interested in through the years. Gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, piano, Tik Tok, Fortnite, Roblox, Michael Jackson- you name it! Lol. No earth-shattering ideas to share here. But it’s filled with love and lots and lots of sweet memories…

I absolutely love our new Christmas tree gifted to us from Home Depot! I’ve been searching for years for a more realistic tree, and this is perfect! It’s 7.5ft tall, and I love that the bulbs are a little bigger than the traditional lights. And there’s so many options for them- you can choose a warm white or multi-colored, and you can make the lights fade in and out, white to color, or just have it stay put. The best part is, it comes with a remote. I say this because I often fall asleep on the couch while watching tv or working on the laptop. I want the tree to stay on late with me, but don’t feel like getting up to turn it off when I get close to dosing off. #lazy This way it stays on, and then as soon as I feel myself drifting, I just turn it off with the touch of a button:)

Ok, friends! Now comes the fun part! Head to Monica’s blog next, and then continue on with the list below throughout the week!
Everything is so lovely and I’m a huge fan of the books instead of a tree collar! Genius.
Thank you so much, Miranda! Happy Holidays!
Haneen, I just love your unique, creative style… your book tree skirt is genius! And I love seeing your family tree too. Thanks so much for joining us on the tour!

Thank you so much, Jewel! And thanks for hosting!
That green book tree is super special, it literally stopped me in my scrolling tracks on IG! I’m glad I popped over to the blog to see more, your home is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you visiting!
Your house is amazing and your use of books is genius!
Thank you so much! So kind of you!
Beautiful as always. The books are my favorite part. I too look for books at my thrift store. But mine are $1.00 each so not as thrifty as yours. But lately I have found several with small black and white tweed fabric covers. And they are art history and antique books!
Thank you so much! The books you found sound lovely!
