Fall Home Tour #1 (and the new bedroom chandelier!)

Good morning! So excited to join Marty from A Stroll Thru Life in her Fall Home Tour blog hop! Thank you for having me, Marty! And if you’re visiting from Far Above Rubies, welcome! Please be sure to check out the full list of bloggers participating at the end of this post- the fall tours started Monday and they’ve been inspirational all week!

So, this is my first of three fall tours, so bare with me as I spread these out!

I bought these awesome white planters from Home Goods at the start of summer. My flowers looked so pretty in them, but I was kind of bummed when they cascaded and covered the pot up! Lol. Glad I could make use out of them this fall in a way that shows them off a bit:) The large pumpkins that sit on top are also from Home Goods. I always like to disperse things throughout the steps, being sure to alternate varying heights of mums and pumpkins. I would love to go crazy with fall decor out here, but my hubby always reminds me not to overdo it because he worries about people (particularly trick-o-treaters) tripping over anything on their way to or from the door. Can you tell my husband is the practical one? I’m just the dreamer who wants to make everything look beautiful. That being said, it isn’t the widest space, and since we recently pulled the two ugly trees that were flanking the front door, we’re looking at extending the second step.

I’m totally crushing on plum these days. I’m not typically a purple person, but I’m loving this shade of it for fall! Find my shoes HERE and my top HERE and my necklace HERE.

Find this door mat HERE. And yes, it just occurred to me that this now says, “Home Sweet Hoe.” Well done, Haneen. #oops #neededasmallerpumpkin

When you come into the foyer, this is what’s greeting you! To find the tutorial for this geometric wall, click HERE. Green is my favorite color. I’ve had a collection of vintage/thrifted green books for a while now, so I couldn’t resist displaying them near this wall, nestling them between my vintage green trunks. I knew neutral pumpkins were the way to go here, so I simply dispersed a few here and there amongst the books and called it a day:) Sometimes simplest is best! I don’t always have that mentality with interior design. Lol I can be a little over the top, but with school back in session for my four kids and activities starting up again, “simple” is the way to go since I’ve resumed playing chauffeur and trying to keep my head on straight with school paperwork!

Here’s a sneak peek at what I’m sharing on the 21st for Fall Home Tour #2! My velvet crush continues with my new family room chairs!

The gorgeous ombre vase and the awesome pumpkins are from Home Goods! You can find a link to the chairs by clicking HERE. Or shop the room below..

So…. I figured I’d take this opportunity to share my new bedroom light fixture! I love my bedroom so much and find it hilarious that it took us this long to replace the “boob” light! I honestly don’t know how a builder installs a boob light onto a tall, gorgeous vaulted ceiling! Here is the show stopper we replaced it with…

When my husband finished installing it, he went to the basement to turn the power back on and I literally screamed when it came on and jumped up and down like a kid on Christmas morning. It. Is. ALLLLL THE THINGS! I found it at Lighting Design Company. Their selection is so huge it’s almost overwhelming. In a great way, of course. It’s nice to find a site that breaks it down to detailed options so you truly find what you’re looking for. I wanted a transitional piece. Something modern and edgy, but still classic. Our bedroom is the most traditional room in our home. I didn’t want something too modern. You can read about my thought process in choosing one (and see all of the ones I narrowed it down to by clicking HERE). In that post, I remember I had just seen the new Beauty and the Beast movie and was super inspired by all of the gorgeous chandeliers in the castle. It made me want something traditional and elegant, but of course with a twist. This gorgeous chandelier is just that- elegant with a twist. I love the vertical acrylic pieces! This thing is a knock-out at night!

I had every intention of adding simple white pumpkins on the nightstand to make this an “official” part of the fall tour, but #momlife. The texture of the pink throw (from Home Goods, but you can find a similar one HERE  or HERE) really cozies things up in here for the cooler months ahead. The fur throw will do, right?
